Experimentation
The work displayed below is a mix of personal and contract. Here you might stumble upon logos, vectors, and other projects that do not have the amount of documentation in other sectors.
Tropical Reign: Travel Agency
Contract
Tropical Reign, a travel company, hired me for about a month to develop ideas for their logo. I created a Caribbean-inspired design that reflected their primary goal of taking travelers to Caribbean destinations. I produced approximately 30-40 sketches before narrowing them down to 10 ideas, implementing the requested colors (Purple, Gold/Yellow, Orange, and Blue) and utilizing recognizable attractions of the Caribbean like waves, ships, and feathers, resulting in the design above. During the ideation process, I also considered using South American Carnival headdresses, or a cruise ship infused with jester hats or crowns, but ultimately I thought that these were stereotypical renditions of French-coalesced cultural takes. To better depict the rich culture of the Caribbean, I looked towards head scarfs along with a silhouette that reflected Afro-Caribbean features, simplifying them down to their separate components while still providing the vivid colors that were originally requested
Deadman's Roll Cover Art
Personal
As a hobby, I play a variety of Tabletop role-playing games. Each game is centered around a theme or a major event within the story. For an additional challenge, I wanted to add another theme to the work that I was already doing. I chose to replicate common Tarot cards, inspired by ones I’ve stumbled upon in curio shops and toy stores. To accomplish this task, I reviewed a variety of styles on popular sites like Pinterest and Behance to accelerate the learning process and find the iconic cards that matched the theme
